As an addition to our range of ornaments we offer a large real natural slate piece to furnish your aquarium or vivarium. It will be similar in size and shape to the example pictures shown.
Filed, washed and sterilised ready to safely introduce into your pets environment.
Useful for a number of reasons as well as basking on.  If a tortoise eats off one of these it could help to keep its beak down.
Another option is to place this on a heat mat (not included) and make a nice warm area for certain reptiles.  Fitting of a thermostat is advised to make sure the stone does not get too hot.  Lizards may use this to trim their nails.
Also suitable to decorate aquariums.
This is the finest Welsh slate direct from the quarry, it is not reclaimed, meaning there is no chance of unwanted residue from previous use which could be harmful to aquatic life.
One large size piece is approximately 28cm x 18cm x 0.5cm and weighs an average of 750 grams.

Why Choose Slate?
To achieve a natural looking habitat slate is an ideal material to use.  The lovely texture, grain and shapes are eye catching, however the subtle shades of grey are neutral so will not clash with other colours.  Many other types of rocks and wood can appear ‘messy’ when put together. Natural slate not only looks great but highlights and enhances the colours of the animals and plants it is placed with.
